I had the great privilege of capturing just a moment in the life of this
wonderful single mother. I have known her for many years. She has been through a lot.
She has never complained.
As I was editing these pictures, I had an opportunity to search deep into her eyes.
I see in the faint lines of her face a mother who worries,
will she be all that her daughter needs her to be?
Will the lonely nights overcome her?
The mantle that she carries is carefully hidden behind her smiling face,
but I can see it as I study every line and look deeply
into those eyes.
Only the heart of a mother can carry that heavy of a burden.
